Curated by BOM for St. George Bakery
Curated by BOM exhibition is the first out of four to be displayed at St. George Bakery in 2025. It showcases artworks from Anniina Dunder-Berg, Piia Jalkanen, Päivi Keski-Pomppu and Pietu Arvola.
Anniina Dunder-Berg is a visual artist and graphic designer with a background in jewellery design. She is captivated by the diverse qualities of surfaces and the idea of seeing with one’s hands. Working mainly with dry pastels, gouache, and oil paints, Dunder-Berg enjoys exploring the dynamics of lines, contrasting thin with thick, and sharp with wavy, often using scratching techniques to reveal underlying colors. This approach allows her to continuously discover new aspects of art making.
In addition to her independent work, Dunder-Berg finds great significance in creating commissioned paintings. These works are often deeply personal to the client, offering her a profound insight into humanity. Instagram: @anniinadb

Jalkanen’s roots are in North Savo, a region in northeastern Finland, surrounded by the deep forests of her grandmother’s home. Her heritage serves as a source of inspiration, weaving a journey from past to present in her creations. She emphasizes sustainable aesthetics, the stories behind objects, and the philosophy of crafting items that endure across generations as fundamental principles of her design work.
